Community Tasting Note

Saturday, October 24, 2009 - Aromatically deeply fruited. A whiff of this while it was being poured into the decanter was like sticking your face in a big basket of blackberries, raspberries and even plums that had just been picked. In the glass the nose was more muted but still nice. This was at first a little disjointed, in that you got a little too much oak in the midpalate and the finish, but after an hour or two of air, this was singing. At that point I can see what other tasters meant when they note it got a bit soft in the midpalate, but come on people, it's a right bank wine and it shouldn't be too firm there. I thought this was drinking exactly at it's price point. Liked the freshness of the fruit, enjoyed the finish.
