Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - This is now sitting firmly at the top of my "quaffers" wine list. Another great bottle ooooooozing with terroir, character and freshness. A veritable break from the norm - liquorice, red fruits, minerals, drying finish - forget "gobs of fruit" and lingering 90 second finishes - this gives you a wine that is all about freshness, quality wine making and a wine that compliments your food rather than dominating it. A slightly tangy, tarte finish - crunchy, slurpy - you can feel the love for winemaking here. What you are not getting here is depth and aging potential, but rather a wine that is for drinking now with more character and individuality that most of Bordeaux and Rhone wines will ever deliver. Excellent. Sometimes you forget that some wines are just made for drinking young. Buy buy buy.
