82 Points

Saturday, July 3, 2010 - I bought a bottle of this for the retirement party for our receptionist - it was the name that attracted me because I knew she would get a laugh out of it. I have had a number of higher end Charles Smith wines, but not this one. This wine gets about 89 points at the front of the palate but gets about 73 at the back, with an annoying bitterness that left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. The nose was tropical but subdued and the the palate was initially a mix of pear and tropical fruit with light floral notes. BUT yucch with bitterness and astringency at the back of the tongue. YMMV, but I will not but again except for the laugh factor.
