2007 Quinta das Maias Dão

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Thursday, April 18, 2013 - Dark, inky purple. Full body. This starts out with some really harsh tannins and tart acidity, but after 45 minutes in the glass it really begins to mellow and integrate. The cedar is definitely there, especially on the nose, as well as licorice and chalky earth, and behind that there are some deep, potent black fruits. Actually, this stuff is pretty decent, especially for the price. Give it a one hour decant and pair it with some robust food.
