Thursday, March 26, 2009 - From a magnum. While B. Morey's Bâtard-Montrachet is a bit too lush and oaked to be a classic, it was outstanding nonetheless. The oak gave it a richness that suppressed the crisp edge that is typical of this vineyard. The wine is smooth, elegant, well defined, clean, complex, and simply delicious if not exactly true to the terroir. Highly recommended and ready to drink right now. -JBL
