Wednesday, September 14, 2011 - Pale/medium mahogany core, wide pale mahogany rim. Developed nose showing leather, spice, brown sugar, nutty and soil notes. There is more fruit on the initial attack, red cherries, also almonds, brown sugar and leather. This is medium bodied, with a reasonably layered and intense mid-palate, but quite firm tannins which come through on the good length, fresh finish, which shows notes of hazelnut and soil. Decent, if not exceptional, the firm tannic signature in this bottle demanding food.
