Wednesday, February 1, 2017 - From 375, popped and poured. Had a bottle of this a week ago and wanted to see if a second impression would be better. Not really. Nose seemed dominated by alcohol, with maybe a hint of black plums. Much better on the palate (some of the notes below had the opposite impression, go figure) with ripe fruit and a pleasing if somewhat sweet finish.
Very modern wine. I hope it will mellow a bit with time, but not sure it will. Crowd pleaser, I'd guess, due to ripe fruit. Not a bad wine; in fact pretty good, but not my favorite style these days.
