Thursday, August 17, 2023 - The aromatics explode out of the bottle once the cork is drawn. A sultry nose of baking spices, violets, red and blue fruits, sous bois. Medium-bodied, the midpalate is still tightly wound and intense, red and blue fruits again, earth, minerally, evolving with wonderful layers, with firm 2008 tannins (dry, slightly raspy, and still packing a punch) and a firm acid spine that is appropriate for the intensity of the wine. Splendid. Hold on any remaining bottles for further tertiary development.
