Thursday, August 10, 2023 - Tasted at Chateau Figeac, wine #1. One of my favourite chateau in the region, distinctive terroir and mastery of vinification. A blend of 35% CS, 35% CF and 30% Merlot, aged 18 months in new oak. Intense rich and complex aroma of spices, earth, black olives, blackcurrants, dried cherries, tobacco, hint of strawberries and cedar. Medium+ body, concentrated and deep, yet elegant and restrained with smoky fruits, mineral saline hints, impeccable structure, well balanced medium+ acidity & extra fine velvety tannins.
