Saturday, June 13, 2015 - OMG! Opened and decanted 3 hours and brought to a blind tasting. No one would have guessed that this was Bordeaux but what I now define as Cali-Bordeaux-Nia as there is definitely characteristics of both regions here. Good deep red & purple hew with slow legs and light sediment. The nose had an awesome scent of crushed berries and hint of flowers. It sipped with an intense dark berry mixture of blueberry, cranberry and some minor cassis with coffee, mocha, hint of vanilla and smooth integrated tannins. The finish was long and delightful. This yummy and powerful Bordeaux lacks any of the skunk found in the region and yet does not evoke the "pop & pour" California experience. This was a grand slam, right bank Bordeaux mélange of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, and Merlot and I wished I had more; no kidding! If the Chateau is reading this then please send me more LOL!
