Monday, February 13, 2012 - Impressed. The critics who noted that this wine trends toward to modern side of Bordeaux are correct. But its sense of place is there, most notably the aromas and flavors of cool stones and fresh tobacco. This is very good and very well made wine. Impressive depth and purity. Already sufficiently soft and round to drink now, which may turn out to be the common thread with the entire 2009 vintage. But it has the stuffing to cellar for several years to evolve into a more complex mature wine. Extraordinary value for this vintage. Recommended. Bottom feeders take note.
