Sunday, March 3, 2019 - WOW, WOW WOW! Now I KNOW bottle variation...This wine was not supposed to drink this good. I had to look at the label 3X to make sure I had not grabbed a Montrose. I have gone through over a case of this wine, and have 2 cases to go, but this was the best damn bottle and so above and beyond the others. This was on fire! Held its own and ran several laps ahead of the 2009 Marojallia that passed up a Chateau Margaux 2006 next to it...What a surprising night. It was an evening of the underdog. Money doesn't always buy you the best wines, and I am so lucky to experience that over and over again, having tried so many head bending wines.

The wine was thick and magenta in shade, with shades of brown starting to form. It was clear and healthy. The fruit was incredible and there was no denying the St. Estephe dirt and living Margaux style violets were everywhere, intermixed with gobs of red and black fruit. Somewhat Pape Clement in style...Blind, I might have guessed 2005 Pape Clement...Yes that good!

*For what its worth, this came from a case that has been sitting in a cold hobby room for 6 months now, because of space issues in the cellar...The cork was brittle and broke during extraction. F*&^ the cellar, Im moving a few cases into the hobby room for faster aging...
