Sunday, April 11, 2010 - Wow! This has two things printed into it. Chapoutier and Australia. There is the fantastic minerally red wine taste of Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone wines, then there is the deep, muscular fruit of Australia. At no time is this over the top, just a calm, serene and deep wine. Violets, dark berries, smoke, fennel - wonderful tannic structure that is not too obtrusive - smooth, lingering follow through. This is a serious wine - very pleasurable but this has years ahead of it.
