Saturday, April 22, 2017 - Decanted for about 4 hours. Still big tannins. Dark fruit forward with some elements of tobacco, leather, cassis, tannic finish that added almost a cleansing finish to the complexity of this wine. Can cellar for many more years, but very enjoyable now. During the 4 hour decant the wine seemed to close between 90 minutes and 3 1/2 hours. So I would advise pop and pour or at least a 4 hour decant. IMO the wine was approachable initially.
