Sunday, May 29, 2022 - Popped and poured from split while filtering pours through a screen. This is a solid red wine. There is some visible sediment caking throughout the bottle and sediment at the end, so decant or filter. The nose opens into red fruit, aged leather, mint, and light herb notes. In the mouth, the wine feels restrained, but nevertheless brings the smoothness, red fruit mix, and chocolate one would expect. The finish is notably long, allowing one to appreciate the concentration of flavor with a minty echo. Overall, this was enjoyable and in a nice spot today; it performed slightly above expectations. 92 points.
