92 Points

Friday, February 12, 2016 - Poured into decanter and drank over two hours. Excellent cork. Dark garnet with thin translucent rim. Pretty nose with sous bois, earth and sweet dark fruit. On the palate initially a bit austere with dark fruit, plenty of earth, coffee and even some iron. Later the wine mellows and is increasingly dominated by leather. Fine to medium tannins. Medium (+) finish.
Nice but would not wait much longer as the fruit is about to fade behind those leather and tobacco notes. Just like Pape 95 and 96, this does not seem to be built for the very long haul. 91-92
