Saturday, May 22, 2010 - I had a bottle of this wine each of the past two nights. I liked the first bottle so much that I went out and picked up another one for the following evening. Notes of spice, judicious use of vanilla oak, and cola. No alcoholic heat and just the slightest bit of fine grained tannin. Pretty well balanced and not monolithic and huge. It had cooler climate aromatics and freshness to it considering it's from Carneros. This was right in our wheelhouse and with another year in bottle it could be special. At $25 it's a bargain in my book.
