Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - Opened and decanted for 30 minutes. Nice red fruit with some developing earthiness. Still a little astringent with some raw tannins and overt acidity. Medium bodied with a growing hint of leather and spice which for the moment is leaving it a little disjointed -- really needs another year I think but doesn't have some of the complexity that will really take this into the 90's or allow it to mellow before it loses the fruit and dissipates to something flabby. Will try again in 6 months.
