Color is a crystal clear ruby with a lightly bricked rim. The nose was a beauty - balaton cherries, red currants and sous bois. Some brown spice elements and sandalwood build as it opens up in the glass over two hours. the palate is admittedly a bit mute at first. Some of the same elements as the nose, but definitely needed some air to get rolling. Once it did, everything built in intensity. The fruit was more lifted and the finish was long with brown spice and sous bois. Resolved tannins and elegant structure, this also gained weight with air. While I can see this being a profound wine in better vintages, this bottle was pretty excellent.
