Sunday, August 22, 2021 - In magnum. Pristine cork after all these years. Decanted off quite a bit of sediment. Full, deep ruby red with a fair amount of sediment. Lovely nose of black currant, plum, blackberry, graphite, licorice, ink, and a slight amount of black currant leaf. Really quite spectacular on the nose! Medium full bodied, tangy acidity, no tannins to speak of and a tapering fine finish that is nicely dry. Similar flavours as the nose. Really nicely balanced between the fruit and acid. Just perfect with food, especially BBQ steak and Tuscan white beans with rosemary. So happy this lasted and performed. Not too surprising since 2007 was one of the better vintages.
