Wednesday, November 3, 2021 - (11/3/21) First of twelve. This bottle had a crumbly cork and showed much more development than the bottle that led me to buy two cases. Nevertheless, this was in a great place, with loads of cassis, black cherry, tobacco, and forest floor on the nose and the same on the palate. The concentration and balance were quite good, and the tannins were like talcum powder. After a couple hours in the decanter, the nose and palate were both showing truffle notes. The wine was still excellent on day two—better in some ways—and was oozing with truffle oil. 14% abv (***+/16.5/93)
