Sunday, February 5, 2006 - Superbowl afternoon cabernet tasting (Home in Boston): Floral nose, but not overpowering. Medium weight in color, taste of earth and wood, but still tight even after 6 hours in decanter. Dry, focused finish with some complexity (caramel?) at the end. I have always been disappointed with Ducru 95, perhaps because I expected a WS WOTY to just blow me away. In reality, this is an excellent bordeaux that is still young, even though it will never be huge.
