Sunday, August 14, 2011 - Taste side by side with a Barton '95 after 10 hours of decanting, although both St Julien, each exhibited different characteristic, Amazing! The nose on the Barton was more Pauillac, rustic, earthy but carries finesse, the Ducru Beaucaillou was very feminine, almost too shy to speak but extremely sexy! Crimson color with slight browning on the edges, seemingly entering into drinking window but I am convinced it is not yet ready. Soft tannins, solid body of comprising of lush blackberries, light pepper, anise. Fairly long finish. Great Bordeaux! 93 points
