95 Points

Monday, March 13, 2017 - Deep red with no lightening at the rim. Upon popping the cork, the 1995 Ducru gives off aromas of leather, pipe tobacco, smoke, black cherries, exotic spices and violets. The spellbinding nose gives way to a medium- to full-bodied wine loaded with dark fruits, earth and minerals. Finishes long, with gradually building tannins that linger on the palate. This is in the early stages of maturity, and is certainly approachable now, especially with several hours' aeration. All in all, a fabulous Bordeaux that is still on the upswing. 95.
