Saturday, December 1, 2018 - Stewed, rotten fruit on the nose upon opening. Stewed, rotten fruit on the nose after an hour’s decant and throughout the bottle. With the Ponsot iconic status growing, it was all the more disappointing to encounter such a terrible bottle. Very little fruit delineation , and an acid balance that was off. I was asked if it was corked — not with the synthetic cork of course. Pretty color, rich viscosity, no pleasant flavors. Surprisingly bad grape selection.
