Sunday, April 1, 2012 - This is a nice inexpensive Malbec. High score is indicative/reflective of the excellent QPR. At $8.99/bottle, you can't go wrong. Dark purple color. Nose of dark fruit (blackberry, black cherry?). This wine didn't offer much without food. Once we introduced food into the equation, this wine revealed surprising levels of complexity. We enjoyed this with green chile and provolone cheeseburgers. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and some citrus elements, with some nice peppery and earth/mineral elements. Good acidity. Good cellar filler for "regular Joes" on a budget like most of us.
