Monday, April 21, 2014 - Last of two bottles, 9 months later. This is truly what Napa Cab is all about - everything you would expect - drinking perfectly now. Dark, brooding garnet color is matched with an earthy, leathery nose. Taste included notes of dusty graphite, black licorice, bell pepper, olallaberry fruit. It is strong enough to let you know this is a Napa Cab - it is not light at all - but it is not an in your face robust Cab. Medium, smooth tannins (as expected for 6 & 1/2 yrs) and medium finish. This is a very elegant/classy Cab that would match a lot of food, but might be a tad overpowered by spicy food, bbq, heavily tomato dishes. Went perfectly with rack of lamb with mint/pesto - covered lightly with chipotle panko crumbs. This might age a little more, but it is in a very sweet spot just now and we suggest consuming in 2014.
