87 Points

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 87-88 pts. Just a casual weeknight wine that pairs well with an Agatha Christie movie with the wife (Poirot). The Grenache Blanc seems to have fallen away leaving the Clairette and Bourboulenc to drive the wine. The fruit is pretty austere at this point although there's a bit of citrus peel that adds some freshness and interest.

For the most part this wine is all about the floral and subtle spice notes that wrap around the generous midpalate mouthfeel. If it weren't for the citrus and minerality it might have been a bit too round but there's just enough there to keep it from being too out of balance.

With some suggestion you might be able to decipher some more notes, but there's not much delineation here. There's still enough acidity from the Grenache Blanc but I imagine this would have been better a year or so ago. Definitely time to drink now. Good at the $6 I found it for, but probably isn't for everyone due the lack of expressive fruit.
