Saturday, December 29, 2012 - Consumed with homeade spaghetti. There is a light floral nose with vanilla toast that lurks under the dark plum color. This is a sturdy and powerful sip out of the bottle with vanilla, currant, and blackberry. This really would benefit with more time to soften the fleshy tannins. The acidity holds up well especially with hearty Italian food. This should be served with heavy Italian fare such as homeade spaghetti, lasagna, or veal parmigiana. A short decant is recommended.
