2008 Flowers Perennial

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

79 Points

Thursday, December 27, 2012 - This wine is a blend of 62% Pinot Noir, 27% Syrah, 7% Pinot Meunier and 4% Chardonnay. Despite its lofty price, it comes off as nothing more than the "leftovers" of the vintage. The robe is medium ruby. The nose shows promise, with floral, licorice and black fruit aromas. Thereafter, it is all down hill. The medium-bodied palate is angular and astringent, with somewhat hot alcohol (listed as 13.8%). All of this provides a blockade to the fruit, of which little is enjoyed on the palate. The middle is thin and the medium-length finish is Sahara-dry. While drinkable, this wine is clearly overpriced and does not provide much enjoyment. If you own the wine, drink now-12/15.
