Friday, February 3, 2012 - Dudley's on Short (Lexington, KY): Reticent nose, faintly sweet and feminine, drop of vanilla extract, reddish cherry fruit, smoky and dusty spice in the background. Medium-bodied palate opens with a sour, high acid blast, lots of tobacco and tea leaf on the midpalate transition. Picks up more red fruit in the decanter, almost giving a Pinot Noir fruit profile of leathery red cherry a wild berries, then finishing with nice integrated tannins.
