The second bottle we opened required significantly more decanting time for the Cayuse funk to blow off, but relative to the first bottle presented a lot more menthol and medicinal notes. I had almost thought it was corked given how different it was from the first bottle, but glad I revisited it several hours later instead of giving up. After enough air it was still wonderful and I think the "funkiness" of this pairs brilliantly with dry aged beef. If you are a WineBeserker, this is fantastic with some dry aged Flannery ribeye.
