Thursday, October 27, 2016 - Courtesy of Dave, popped and poured during dinner. Brief notes. Deeply colored. Earth, pepper, black fruit in the bouquet. Firm, fine-grained tannins with a sweet edge supporting a melange of red and black fruit and peppery spice qualities. Remains firm through the lengthy finish. 92-93 pts, with plenty of upside, but I'd hold this one for now unless you're pairing it with a rich or fatty meal such as braised beef shanks or a ribeye.
