91 Points

Sunday, December 11, 2011 - I must admit, despite not wanting to like this, it's actually pretty good and I think is way better than the '07 Georges de Latour. Unlike many big, Californian Cabs, I found this one to have nice integration between the obvious oak tones and the soft, pleasant notes of black and red fruits and tannins. Many wines made in this style feel unbalanced to me; not this one. The nose is clean with those plum, currant, blackberry and blueberry notes I look for and the palate is rich, opulent, ripe and juicy, with macerated stone fruits, mint, minerals and a long, caressing finish. Nice job.
