Friday, June 19, 2020 - Nose of macerated dark cherry and a sort of fruit compote. Clearly at the end of its life but not unpleasant. Decanted for 2 hours which probably was more than necessary. Served with grilled rib eye accompanied by a roasted mushroom and cannelloni bean ragu with rosemary and garlic essence. The wine worked well with the dish but it clearly needed the robustness of the food to deal with the tannins which have outlasted the fruit by the end of the meal. Drink up.
