Sunday, March 19, 2023 - At a private dinner, Coorparoo. This wine was hidden deep in my cellar and chosen for a special dinner. It opened with a deep ruby red with edge lightening and a fine nose of dark cherries, plum preserve, lavender and a touch of Grand Marnier. The palate is quite mature with lovely fruit giving way to tertiary characters of walnut, caramel and orange. Overnight in the decanter brought foward more primary fruit characters and nice touches of blood orange and lavender. The spirit was well balanced and the tannins just a fine line tucked in behind the other characters. A very good bottle of port.
