96 Points

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - This was purple in color if not quite opaque. The aromatics were incredible (100 points). The wine fllled the air with flowers, stones, dark berries, kirsch, cedar, oak, sandalwood, and a bit of iron and blood. All the components of the aroma were mimicked on the palate, but the layers were very tightly spaced. The alcohol was a bit elevated and the tannins were present but ripe. The wine was also very finely balanced between acid and body. The length was good but not great, and this is were the Ovid lost points. For it to trully become a great wine, I would like to see more length.
