Monday, July 2, 2012 - Gabbro terroir, which I think is somewhat atypical for Muscadet. Lemon rind, beeswax, straw, with a deep-ocean salinity. Very high-toned, even for Muscadet, with a somewhat bitter acidity. As the wine warmed, it revealed a honeyed, almost sweet note on entry followed by a deeply contrasting, sour beer/lemonade finish.
