Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - The wine pours a dark ruby and purplish color with slight tinges of bricking at the rim. Medium legs after a couple swirls. The wine opens with an opulence of red fruits (thanks to the merlot), cedar, sea breezes, and faint smokiness. An archetypal claret that slightly disappoints as it lacks concentration. This is a tasty wine although it is rather thin and lacking structure on the palate. There is some cloyingness to it as well. A lot of red fruits and pencil shavings come to the fore. No remarkable tannins, yet the finish is not long either. An undeniably pleasurable drink but would be easily forgotten.
