Monday, January 24, 2011 - This is the sustainable vineyards wine from the winery.

Color is clear medium + ruby (quite dark actually).

Nose is clean, medium + with aromatics of fruit and floral.

Palate is dry, medium alc. with medium + body, medium acid and medium tannin. In other words the palate is fairly rich for the wine, and especially rich for the other Mencia's that I have had (mostly Petalos). Finish lingers in fruit and floral range, adding note of spice (barrel?).

Overall for $14 this is very good wine. The complexity in the aromatics and palate lead me to this conclusion. The tannins ride out a bit on the finish but the fruit holds.
