Sunday, December 31, 2023 - 1 hr air out of magnum. This is a good bottle of mature Pomerol but not one that really shows off the greatness of Lafleur. Some funkiness, some vegetal notes, a lot of sour cherry and some umami. Tannins are strong but almost mellow. There’s a lot of earthiness and high acidity. Tasted more advanced than it probably technically is: I bet this will keep for quite a while longer although I am not at all sure it can get better. Very respectable, not much more.
