Sunday, May 1, 2011 - I bought a 6pk of this on release and have had bad luck with this wine over the years--a couple of corked bottles, a couple that were devoid of fruit and probably corked, and one stewed. But this, my last bottle showed very well indeed. Decanted 2 hours and tasted over the next hour or so, the nose featured smoky black fruit with plenty of savory and high-toned aromatic elements. On the palate this starts off rich and savory but then a sinew-y streak of bright red fruit kicks in to bring it all into focus. Long, tall and rock solid on the finish, at least the last bottle showed its stuff. Now through 2014.
