Thursday, December 11, 2014 - First real venture into Tempranillo. No decant. Strong smell of alcohol on the initial nose but it opened up nicely to include oak, vanilla, and dark strong fruit.

Dark fruit on the taste. Surprisingly light body for the dark color. Very smooth and easy drink. Taste of fruit on the front end. Long and enjoyable finish, almost spicy with a hint of pepper.

Drank well with the pot roast.
