Saturday, October 26, 2019 - Opened this after a flawed 1997 of the same wine. Unfortunately I could tell this one just wasn’t as good as the 1997 must have been (had it not been flawed)
That said, this was drinking beautifully. Dark fruits, tobacco, graphite. Tannins still present and structured. I love these aged Cali wines—tasted like a Cali-Bdx hybrid.

10/29/2019 3:28:00 AM - I bought up a bunch of these late ‘90’s Mondavi wines and I can’t get enough. So far the ‘95 has been the best. I also have a ‘99 somewhere. It takes all my willpower not to log on to the auction sites to look for more!!!

10/29/2019 6:10:00 AM - My best Mondavi tasting ever was in their reserve room shortly after Constellation bought them.....the host behind the bar gave us heavy pours that day and lots of re-visits....the '95 Reserve was far ahead of everything else......looking forward to trying the '99 soon. Also picked up a '99 Ch.Montelena. They were good back then. Should be here in 2 weeks.
