Saturday, August 1, 2015 - Garnet red, starting to lighten at the rim - center is still quite dark.
Refined smell: cedar, cigar-box, black berries - the fruit and its sweetness becoming more pronounced, but not jammy , as the wine warms up in the glass.
On palate medium weight, bit of dusty tannins coupled with a shiraz like suavity, with firm - well integrated - tannins and a good acidic balance.
The wine is medium weight. quite elegant and harmonious. Good and long finish.
Would easily have lived another 5-8 years.
