Sunday, June 19, 2011 - I would say that this was the best red wine that I've consumed to date. Now I know what Parker is talking about when he describes "glycerin" in a Cali cab because what struck me most about this wine was the initial burst of sweetness in the fruit. Not syrupy sweetness- just an incredible abundance of natural sweetness which transitioned into the full and lush mid palate featuring perfectly ripe cabernet fruit- some hints of currant and perhaps leather and chocolate.

The acidity on the mid-palate to the finish is bracing and enlivinening- upon first sip I thought it might be too much for me and that the wine was far too young too drink- but either it settled in or I settled in and everything was beautiful. The finish was also quite exquisite- the natural tannins of the skins married with the oak and were carried by the a acidity into a long and impressive finish which had me smiling and shaking my head in delight.

I started this off at a 95 and as I realized that over the course of dinner that this wine equaled of exceeded any red I've had to date, the score rose.
