Saturday, February 4, 2012 - A moderate disappointment the glowing professional and CT reviews. Lithe rather than full, it has clear notes of cassis, cacao, vanilla. Structure is, for a Napa cab, gossamer rather than sturdy - light acidity, barely perceptable tannins, mild finish. Enjoyable to study, it could not stand up to broiled salmon. Given the structure, this is the kind of wine that might develop into an ethereal beauty or fall completely apart. (I chalked the first bottle up to bottle variation, but this second bottle was very consistent, and can't blame transport or storage since my bottles were sourced upon release in napa valley close to where I live)
