90 Points

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 - The aromatics are outrageously complex and varied, showing notes of dried tropical fruit, petrol, forest floor/mushroom, white flowers, and apple/cinnamon. The palate follows in fashion, opening with ripe caramelized apples and savory spiced honey. The mid-palate acts as an extension of the front end, while also adding an interesting fresh bees wax element. The wine finishes long with persistent and vivid tones of almond butter, chalk, pine sap, and dried fruit. The wine expertly balances a lush palate with refreshing acidity, creating fantastic tension on the palate. This is a very well made wine with great fruit and elegant complexity. It is singing right now, however, it should continue to improve with more time in the bottle. R&M 90
