Thursday, May 28, 2020 - Bought in China 5+ years ago - the most expensive wine in the duty free shop at ~Yuan500 if I recall correctly. Given its age and lack of any meaningful provenance, expectations were modest. However, the wine surprised on the upside. Elegant nose, soft tannins with plenty of fruit still intact. Good balance and nice, long finish. Very pleasing wine to drink. Only held back by the complexity that marks a truly distinguished wine yet so much more refined than a VDT. Given this wine was produced in China in 1991 it's truly astonishing. I only wish I had bought a case! The winemaker should be proud of his/her achievements.
