Saturday, May 16, 2015 - Old Bordeaux with Patrick back in town (Fabio's, NYC): What a treat to have this twice in a couple of weeks. The bottle Jay opened earlier this month was stunning, and this was somehow a step up from that. Absolutely intoxicating, haunting aromatics with an array of fresh red fruits, flowers, cedar, and more savoury tobacco, earthy and truffled notes all coming together into an amazing scent. The complexity on the palate echoes the aromatics, and it has an incredibly light, graceful palate presence - flavour conveyed with barely any sense of weight. Absolutely spectacular wine, and my favourite of the night.
